The Next Years of Everton History After the War
It was the appointment of Harry Catterick as the manager of Everton FC that triggered the period of success for the team. It became the champion in 1963 and won FA Cup in 1966. There was also another championship in 1970. That being said, Everton’s time of frequent success didn’t last long due to the rampant success of Liverpool. It was by the effort of Howard Kendall making signings of the shrewd lower league that the team succeeded.

Under Kendall’s guidance, the team could win FA Cup in1984 and even the Cup Winners’ Cup. However, his loss to Athletic Bilbao caused a decline to the team in the nineties. Then, Everton history recorded the appointment of David Moyes to revitalize the club. Because of that, Everton was even able to finish above Liverpool for the first time in 18 years. The team went all the way to reach FA Cup final in 2009. Even though Everton was beaten, it is sure to be doing better ever since.
